Week 32--- Skelleftea
Hej!
I don't have much to write about this week, so here are a
few highlights:
It got way chilly here mid-week. It dropped to -24*C (-11*F)
one night while we were tracting (knocking on peoples' doors). It's a dry type of
cold here, but any exposed skin doesn't last too long before going numb ha ha
We've had a super effective week in terms of finishing up
our plan to clean out the area and get it completely organized. Anyone who
knows me well knows that I like to have things be clean. If there is something
that isn't being used or serve a purpose, it's gotta go. So I got to the
Skellefteå apartment and like 3 days later a lot of furniture and random stuff
left over has now been moved out to storage, feels like a new apartment
though 😎 We did the same thing with the phone
contacts organization and records we have. Feels good to know who everyone is,
their interest status, and be able to be current with the work.
Äldste Callor and I try and have some fun with the work, and
especially goal setting. We call ourselves Renaissance Men, starting a new era
of Skellefteå. Our goals: Master the Timetable and Superior Contacting. While
they pretty much mean *balance time between different types of missionary work*
and *step up our contacting game* (talking to people on the street), it's fun
to put some hype around our goals haha we have a blast together.
We ate dinner with a less involved member named J and her family this week. They come from Colombia so naturally they had
to make us tacos and guac (there's almost no Mexican food in Sweden) which was
way good. It was fun to be over with a family (she's got 2 little girls who are
so cute and fun), eat some good food, and share a nice message on God's love.
Her husband isn't a member and was dropping slight dirty jokes the whole time,
some of which were hard to not laugh at. (you can decide to take that out if
you want mom ha ha). (Mom note: It is what it is!)
My spiritual thought for the week comes from Luke chapter
15. Jesus teaches 3 parables (The one lost sheep, the woman losing her coin
piece, and the prodigal son) and they all carry the same message. That message
is that no matter how small we seem in the crowd, whether it's 1 in 100 (lost sheep
parable) or 1 in 2 (prodigal son), Jesus knows us, cares about us, and is so
happy when we choose to come back to Him. It made me feel good to read those
and know that Jesus is always aware of what I do in life and just wants the
best for me. So if you get a chance, read Luke 15, it's pretty short :)
Thanks for taking the time to read my weekly's, I hope you
guys can get something out of it.
Äldste Gordon
