T-Minus 16....Goteborg, Snow, Snow and more Snow!

Hallå hallå!
This week has been a fun one. The people here in Göteborg are super friendly. Almost everyone I start a conversation with is down to keep talking. I can get used to this 😏

Göteborg (Gothenburg) is a beautiful city. The cool thing about the city is that a lot of people travel by spårvagn (or trolley's). So anytime we want to go somewhere we hop on the trolley and take it into the city. Göteborg reminds me a lot of Seattle (not as many trees) but similar climate. It gets pretty rainy here, especially as we begin to approach spring. The general vibe here is like half city people/students and half outdoorsy type people because there is a lot to do in nature here.

Today for prep day, Elder Moss and I wanted to go out to the islands off the coast for the day and see what there is to do. We called the Kungsbacka elders (a nearby area) and they joined in. We hopped on a boat about 8 am and took it out to this island called Styrsö which is basically a small fishing/tourist island that's dead during the winter. We saw very few people there, but the nature and hiking was beautiful with the low fog hanging around and swedish small town looking houses. Definitely the best activity I've done yet on a prep day. We even passade på (took advantage of) the local grill and got some pizzas with a nice lookout while waiting for the boat back. Feels pretty sweet being able to take a boat to places in my area.

Week 86
Tjena tjena!

I'm a bit pressed on time this week. Since coming here to Göteborg we've been trying to take advantage of prep days and go out and see the cool things in the area.

Today we walked around a place called Slottskogen which is basically a big park on a hill in the forest in downtown Göteborg and they've got tons of animals in there. We got to see some big ol' moose, tons of ducks, bunch of other deer looking animals like reindeer, and then some little goats. The goats were ramming into each other and we were eggin' them on until things turned into a different situation than what we thought we were cheering on ha ha gotta love nature.

We went to this place called I Love Pizza in stan which supposedly has some of the best kebab pizza in Sweden and I'd have to agree. We went to a cafe in Haga, an old part of town and got cinnamon rolls bigger than your head, but the cinnamon rolls here are a lot dryer as opposed to the gooey icy rolls in the states.

We've been getting dumped on with snow here the last 2 days which is pretty uncommon for Göteborg but the city in beautiful all covered in snow.

I went on splits with Elder Wayment in Utby, an area about 20 mins away and got to do some fun stuff with him. He's got the voice of an angel so we thought we'd use it in our proselyting, so we jerry-rigged up a guitar strap out of rope and hit the neighborhoods to sing for people. We were able to sing for a few families which felt good, like I've said before it seems to open peoples' hearts more than us trying to make conversation while the cold seeps into their house.

Besides that, things with the ward are going great. I gave a talk this Sunday and was able to share some mission experiences about times where I saw God's hand intricately involved in how things turned out with certain people.

We rearranged all of the stuff in our flat so I'll have to send a video, it's a nice apartment. We live in the basement of someone's house. A general Authority (leader in the church) is coming to visit the mission this week and may pop into our apartment to see how it is, thanks mom for teaching me organization.

Hope you have a good week! Love ya!
